Who and where are CHWs being included within any level of the health care delivery system? It seems a waste of effort and money to have indivudals go through a training and then not utilize all their talents.
i work in a clinic and am able to speak to low income seniors who need an advocate and an educator with this Medicare system, we help overcome barriers to access state and federal assistance.
What should be the educational level for CHWs and where should that education be provided? Can we take clues for this from the work of state extension departments and the development of nursing into a profession?
